The Konkomba Youth Association (KOYA) is delighted to announce the dates for its highly anticipated 47th Annual National Convention, which will be held from the 20th to the 23rd of March 2024 in Saboba, in the Northern Region of Ghana. This year’s convention will center around the theme “Strengthening Unity and Resilience for Sustainable Peace: The Collective Responsibility of Government Institutions, Traditional Leaders, and Youth Associations”.
As an organization guided by the principles of peace, unity, and empowerment, KOYA recognizes the critical need to foster an environment that promotes dialogue, understanding, and collaboration among different stakeholders. The convention aims to bring together government representatives, traditional leaders, and youth associations to explore their respective roles in creating a peaceful atmosphere in Northern Ghana.
The 47th Annual National Convention will feature engaging activities, including keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops. Esteemed speakers and experts in the fields of governance, traditional leadership, and youth empowerment will lead discussions on topics such as conflict resolution, mediation, effective governance structures, and the role of the youth in sustaining peace.
The Northern Region of Ghana has experienced its fair share of conflicts, which have hindered progress and development. KOYA firmly believes that through dialogue, understanding, and a commitment to non-violence, we can address the root causes of conflicts and work towards peaceful coexistence.
Achieving sustainable peace requires the active involvement of multiple actors. This convention will provide a platform for participants to share experiences, exchange ideas, and develop strategies that encompass the unique contributions of government, traditional leaders, and youth associations. By fostering collaborations and building bridges between these entities, KOYA aims to create a united front for peacebuilding efforts in Northern Ghana.
