Dear KOYA Members,
The Electoral Commission of the Konkomba Youth Association (KOYA) hereby invites nominations for the election of candidates to serve in the National Executive Portfolios of the Association. As we approach the 48th Annual KOYA Convention, this moment marks yet another Handing-Over Convention, signifying the end of the current administrative tenure of the National Executives and the beginning of a new leadership cycle.
In accordance with Article 64 (3) of the KOYA Constitution, elections shall be conducted to usher in a new set of National Executives to oversee the affairs of the Association for the next administrative term.
Declared National Executive Positions for Contest
The following executive positions are hereby declared open for nominations:
- President
- General Secretary
- Organizing Secretary
- Women Commissioner
- Financial Secretary
- Treasurer
Election Guidelines and Constitutional Provisions
As stipulated in Article 18 (1) of the KOYA Constitution, there shall be no deputies for the positions of Financial Secretary and Treasurer. These two officers are expected to work in close collaboration, complementing each other in the execution of their duties.
For the remaining positions (President, General Secretary, Organizing Secretary, and Women Commissioner), the appointment of deputies shall be in strict accordance with Article 51 (1) of the KOYA Constitution, which states:
“The Executive Committee members shall be elected except deputies who shall be appointed and presented to the General Assembly by their superiors before elections.”
Candidates aspiring to contest for any of the declared National Executive Portfolios are advised to refer to Article 47 (I) for guidance on the Electoral College of KOYA National, which outlines the persons and portfolios qualified to vote in KOYA National Elections.

The official Form of Nomination Paper for the 2025 KOYA National Elections is attached to this notice as a PDF document on koyagh.org. Interested candidates are required to:
- Download the nomination form.
- Carefully read and follow the instructions provided in the Footnotes of the form.
- Submit their completed nomination forms by the stipulated deadline.
